Each multiplier represents a portion of the item. For a ₹1,200 bottle shared with shares { Rohan: 3, Maya: 2, Arjun: 1 }, total shares = 6. Each share is worth ₹200. Rohan pays ₹600 (3x), Maya pays ₹400 (2x), and Arjun pays ₹200 (1x).
What if someone in the group drank no alcohol at all?
Simply leave their share at 0 (unselected) for alcohol line items. They will only be charged for the mocktails, soft drinks, and food items they actually consumed, plus their proportional slice of tax.
How are high liquor taxes (VAT/Excise) handled?
All tax and service percentages scale proportionally with each person’s individual subtotal. So high taxes on alcohol naturally fall upon the drinkers.
